Best AI writer for SEO: a marketer drafting a blog post on a laptop

The best AI writer for SEO depends on whether you want finished articles on a schedule or an editor that scores a draft you write yourself, and entry prices run from $20 to $79 a month. AIBlogWrite wrote this comparison and is one of the five options, so we've listed them alphabetically rather than by preference.

Everything below comes from what each company publishes on its own pricing page, checked on 4 November 2026. It compares prices and features, not the quality of any tool's output, and prices change, so confirm them before you buy.

Five SEO AI writing tools side by side

Any shortlist for the best AI writer for SEO starts with price. Entry plans differ in what they count. Some count finished articles, some count documents, and one counts nothing at all, which makes a price-per-post comparison fair only for some of them.

ToolEntry planHow it's billedWhat it includes
AIBlogWriteStarter, $20 a month (Free plan: $0, four posts)Per month10 blog posts a month
FraseStarter, $39 a monthYearly rate shown, monthly billing also offered10 articles a month, 1 seat, 1 site
JasperPro, $69 a month per seatMonthly, or $59 a month if paid yearlyNo article count listed
SurferDiscovery, $49 a monthBilled yearly, paid up front120 documents, 1 seat
WritesonicStarter, $79 a monthBilled annually15 AI articles a month, 1 user

On the figures the companies publish, a Starter post from AIBlogWrite works out at $2, against $3.90 on Frase's yearly rate and about $5.27 on Writesonic's. Those are our sums from the table, not a price any of them quotes.

AIBlogWrite, with posts researched and published for you

AIBlogWrite researches, writes and publishes each article to a WordPress or Next.js site on a schedule, in your business's voice. Its plans are Free at $0 for four posts, Own API key at $19 a month where you pay your AI provider for the writing, Starter at $20 a month for 10 posts, and Growth at $69 a month for 15.

The company says it tuned the writer on real WordPress sites with Rank Math "until every post scored 81 or more out of 100, and it does, consistently." That's its own claim, and our guide to a good Rank Math score explains what the number measures.

It suits a business that wants a blog running without anyone opening an editor. If you want to see the output first, every account starts with four free articles and no credit card, and you can start free to check them on your own site.

Where it gives way: it doesn't offer the audit and AI-visibility tracking that Frase and Writesonic bundle into their plans.

Frase for research and scoring in a small team

Frase's pricing page shows Starter at $39 a month at the yearly rate, with 10 articles, publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or FraseCMS, and SEO and GEO scores. Professional is $103 for 40 articles and three seats, and Scale is $239 for 100.

It's the better fit when a person will edit each draft against a score, and it beats us on features at the entry tier. All plans include a seven-day trial with no card, capped at five articles.

Jasper as a general marketing writer

Jasper's pricing page lists Pro at $69 a month per seat, or $59 a month on a yearly plan with a 12-month commitment. A seven-day trial of Pro is offered.

The page doesn't list SEO as a plan feature. Its GEO and AI optimisation agent, which monitors brand visibility in AI answers, sits on the custom-priced Business plan. So Jasper makes sense when the same person writes ads, emails and web copy and blog posts are one job among many, and it's the weakest value of the five if articles are all you need.

Surfer and its optimisation scoring

Surfer's pricing page starts Discovery at $49 a month, billed yearly, with 120 documents, the Surfy writing assistant and AI SEO optimisation. Standard is $99 and Pro is $182, both also billed yearly.

Credits reset yearly or when you change plan, and bank transfer works only on yearly plans. Among the SEO AI writing tools here, it suits someone who writes or edits drafts and wants an optimisation score beside them, and it pays to do the sums on the number of documents you'll use before committing a year up front.

Writesonic for articles plus AI search tracking

Writesonic's pricing page lists Starter at $79 a month billed annually, with 15 AI articles, 10 site audits and tracking of ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Basic is $199 for 25 articles, and Growth is $399 for 50.

The page lists no permanent free plan. The price climbs quickly, but it's the only one here that pairs article writing with AI-answer tracking at its entry tier, so it fits a marketing team that wants both.

What Google says about AI-written pages

Google says generative AI "can be particularly useful when researching a topic", but that using it to generate many pages without adding value for users may violate its spam policy on scaled content abuse. It also says it's critical to fact-check and review all AI-generated content before publishing.

So the best AI writer for SEO is judged on accuracy and usefulness, not volume. Read each draft before it goes live, whichever tool wrote it. Our piece on whether AI-written blog posts can rank on Google goes further.

Which is the best AI writer for SEO for your situation?

For a business that wants posts published without an editing job, we'd point you to AIBlogWrite, with the obvious bias that comes from writing this. On published price and post count it is the cheapest entry here, and its free plan lets you judge the output before paying.

If you'd rather score and polish drafts yourself, the best SEO AI writer for you may be an editor: Frase or Surfer give you more editing tools, and Frase is the cheaper of the two. Writesonic fits when AI-answer tracking matters as much as the articles. Jasper is the choice for broad marketing copy, and it's not among the best SEO writing tools for blog work on the evidence of its own pricing page.

Before you pay for any of them, run your own site through the free SEO checker to see what needs fixing first. Our comparison of AI blog writers covers the blog-only options in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI writer for SEO on a small business budget?

It depends on who does the editing. If nobody has time, a tool that publishes on a schedule such as AIBlogWrite, from $20 a month, fits. If someone will refine drafts, Frase at $39 a month or Surfer at $49 a month gives more scoring tools.

Do any of these tools have a free plan?

AIBlogWrite has a Free plan at $0 for four posts. Frase and Jasper offer seven-day trials, and Writesonic's page describes a free start with no credit card but lists no permanent free tier.

Are Surfer's prices billed monthly?

The prices on Surfer's page are monthly rates billed yearly, charged for the full year up front. The page doesn't list separate monthly-billed prices.

Can I use AI writing for SEO without risking a penalty?

Google says generating many pages without adding value for users may violate its spam policy, and it asks creators to fact-check AI content. Publish fewer, reviewed posts rather than large volumes of unchecked ones. You can compare current AIBlogWrite plans against these tools' limits.
